The date for the 10th World Aunt Sally Singles Championship has been announced.
It will take place on Saturday 25 June during the annual Charlbury Beer Festival at Charlbury Cricket Club, Oxfordshire from 12 noon.
This year we have Phil Adams back to defend his title, which he won in gripping style at the 2019 event. Meanwhile Oxfordshire’s Roger Goodall and Gloucestershire’s Steve McAteer are both looking to win the World crown for a third time.
The first prize is £100 in cash, plus an impressive replica trophy to take away. The second prize is £50. The winner will have their name engraved on the main trophy, the Finings Cup, which will be retained by Charlbury Beer Festival as this is now a well-established annual competition back after a 2-year Covid-induced break.
Many of the World’s best players have already signed-up to compete this year, so players should register early to avoid disappointment.
Charlbury Cricket Club provides a glorious setting, barely two minutes from Charlbury Station, with excellent all-day (including late night) bus and train services to Charlbury from Oxford, Chipping Norton, Witney, Worcester and London.
