Man charged with causing death by dangerous driving, over fatal Abingdon crash

The 20-year-old local man is also charged with drink driving.

A pedestrian, a man in his 20s, suffered life threatening injuries in Ock Street on Tuesday night and sadly died in hospital.

Two cars were also involved in the crash.

Ryan Owen-Brewerton from Appleford Drive is due in court on August 6th in connection with the incident, and has been released on bail.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses.

The crash happened at around 9.30pm on Tuesday (7/7) and a red BMW and black Vauxhall Insignia were involved.

The pedestrian's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers. 

Officers say both of the drivers were not injured.

Sergeant Darren Brown, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to this collision, or anyone who has information, to please come forward.

 “Please check dash-cam footage in case it has captured something that could assist the investigation.
