Coronavirus: Oxford distillery swaps gin for hand sanitiser

The Oxford Artisan Distillery is making it for care homes and hospitals in Oxfordshire.

The company, which produces Gin, Vodka and Whisky, has launched an online fundraiser to cover the cost of making the sanitiser and is asking people to donate - if they can.

Master Distiller Cory Mason said: "Hand sanitiser is based on alcohol and we have the ability to continue making it right now. There is a real need for it and we want to do what we can to help.

"We do suggest that anyone who is ordering in bulk to give a donation so that we can give the hand sanitiser to people can't afford to pay for it, but we are not turning anyone away.

"The hand rub gel (sanitiser) follows the World Health Organisation’s recommended formula so that it can be used all over the world. And, we're asking the public not to ask for a bottle because they'd like on, it's really for people in the community who need it most."

The distillery is asking organisations that are in need of hand sanitiser to email, info@theoxfordartisandistillery.com
