Broad Street Christmas market Cancelled due to Coronavirus

Organisers have made the difficult decision to cancel the popular event this year.

The Broad Street Christmas Market was due to run from 3rd - 20th December, but this year it's heading online.

Thousands of visitors every year head to the market to find unique gifts from local traders, but Coronavirus restrictions mean organisers have had to make the heartbreaking and difficult decision to cancel it.

Event Organiser Nicole Rahimi posted the update on Facebook:

"I am beyond sad to let you know that I have to cancel the Oxford Christmas Market 2020. I believed I could provide a COVID-19 secure market and some form of normality in the lead up to Christmas, but the current COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions just make it impossible to organise a viable market."

The online market won't work for everyone but for traders selling local crafts it's a great way for them to still showcase what they have to offer.

Businesses will feature on the Oxford Christmas Market website as part of the virtual event with a link through to their website.

More details on the event will be coming soon, stay up to date with all the latest here.
